A Star Behind A Scar was created with one simple belief:

Behind every scar, there is a story of courage and a star waiting to shine.

Many people carry emotional and physical scars from trauma, hardship, loss, or conditions present at birth. Too often, these scars are seen as a sign of weakness. We believe the opposite.

A Star Behind A Scar is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting these incredible survivors and helping them access the care they need to heal and rebuild their lives. Our organization exists to remind survivors that their scars are not the end of their story—they are proof of survival.

Behind every scar is a person with strength, courage, and a story that deserves compassion and support.

Our mission is to help burn survivors receive the medical treatment, rehabilitation, and emotional support they may not otherwise be able to afford. Burn injuries can be life-changing, and many survivors face overwhelming medical costs and long recovery journeys. We are here to stand beside them every step of the way.

This organization was created from a deep passion for helping others. We truly care about the patients and families we serve, and our goal is to bring hope, healing, and dignity to those affected by burn injuries. Seeing survivors regain confidence and happiness is what drives our work every day.
